The West Forest High School World Cultures through Mythology course has been hard at work studying ancient cultures and people. The course began with an exploration of ancient Greek civilization and the mythologies that emerged from this region. Particular focus was placed on the story of Hercules and the 12 labors he completed. Following ancient Greece, students have been working on learning about Ancient Egyptian society. Egypt’s geography, human interaction with the Nile River, and its government structure with pharaohs were discussed. Part of this unit was constructing a diorama of the Great Pyramids of Giza.
