Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope this letter finds you well at the end of another exciting year at East Forest. I am happy to be sharing with you some of the many actions, activities, and opportunities that happened this year to help the school and its students continue to thrive.
Back in August, PennDot brought equipment and signs to help start the year with our Welcome Back Construction theme. Our students also experienced many new activities both in and out of school. The new Nature Trail behind the baseball field was a wonderful addition that our students regularly use throughout the year. Among our staff, our elementary teachers attended STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) trainings. They added exciting hands-on science and technology activities in class to help prepare our students for the opportunities and challenges of the 21st century. High school students applied their classroom learning by experiencing where meaningful history happened, by traveling to Boston and Virginia, and through an unforgettable senior trip to New York City. These are just a few of the many exciting and memorable things that happened at East Forest this year.
I also want to thank the families especially, for all their contributions to another successful year. Your involvement in our school community, whether through volunteering, attending academic, sporting, and social events, or supporting your child’s education through hard work at home has made the year better in so many ways! Our students have risen to the occasion throughout the school year and through all their efforts have stretched themselves not only in academics but have learned important life lessons and skills that will serve them well in the future. As you know, our staff continues to work committedly to foster strong mentoring relationships that make East Forest itself a supportive family that nurtures our students academically, emotionally, and socially. I could not be more proud of the work they do with our students and families.
So at the end of another year of growth and changes, on behalf of the entire staff I want to wish you a happy, restful, and enjoyable summer. I hope you spend quality time with family and friends and cherish your time together. I feel so fortunate to serve as the East Forest principal of such a great school and community. Thank you for being such an integral part of our family.
Sincerely,
Debra Arner
