Note from the Principal
June 8, 2022
Thank you for supporting your students and our school through the many changes this year as we slowly returned to a new normal. I appreciated that your children let me check their temperature every morning and followed all our health plan procedures. You regularly called and let us know if you had health concerns, and you kept your children home for both their protection and that of other students and staff. We worked through absences of staff and students and were able to stay open in order to conduct in person instruction, all due to a joint team effort.
We slowly returned to our past activities in a new way. The seniors traveled to Cleveland on an overnight trip where they visited the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame and traveled to Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH. We ended the year with Easter Egg hunts, Title Night, field trips to Chapman Dam, Pithole, Salmon Creek, Loleta and Cook Forest for Earth Day. Our students learned about fire safety, dry ice, and took the hunter safety course. The high school students had Safety Day and experienced the DUI simulator. We were able to return to career exploration at all grade levels. Students visited the Venango Career Center, UPMC, Zippo, and local businesses. Students worked through learning how to be back in class, building and maintaining relationships while studying, testing and learning new concepts. The PTO sponsored a trip for the entire school to go to Living Treasures and spend time with the animals!
Thank you for sharing your students this year and being patient as we transitioned back to some of our traditional activities. I appreciate and thank you for your participation in our school and working with us to help your children learn and grow. We are preparing for new renovations and upgrades this summer. I look forward to another new year in 2022/23 with new restrooms and flooring!
