West Forest Students Create Culinary Delights~

West Forest students in Mrs. Matthews’ 9th Grade Family and Consumer Sciences class have been actively engaged in a breakfast foods unit, where they are learning essential culinary skills and nutrition concepts. Throughout the unit, students have focused on proper food safety procedures, kitchen organization, measuring techniques, and basic cooking methods. Pictured here, students are preparing sausage breakfast burritos as part of their hands-on learning experience. From browning the sausage to scrambling eggs and assembling their ingredients, students practiced teamwork and time management while applying the skills they have developed. The unit not only builds confidence in the kitchen but also helps students understand the importance of preparing balanced, nutritious meals.
