West Forest Elementary had two teams compete in the Intermediate Unit’s Elementary Chess Tournament. The students who were part of the two teams were Leo Rivera, Colten Hillard, Huckleberry Spas, Jonah Beichner, Maddox Druckemiller, Arlo Sowinski, Preston Hitchcock, and Wynter Stevens. Brookville, Clarion, Clarion – Limestone, Cranberry, Keystone, North Clarion, Punxsutawney, Redbank, and Titusville also participated in the tournament. Forest students did well in the competition. Sixth grade student, Maddox Druckemiller, was one of only 14 students who went undefeated, winning all three of his matches.
