Mrs. Druckemiller’s 2nd grade at West Forest is participating in the Adopt A Cow Program and has adopted an actual live calf growing up on a dairy farm. Her name is Oreo from Lone Oak Farms (dairy farm), located in New Alexandria, Pennsylvania. The calf will not be living in the classroom but will continue to live on the farm with the host farmer. 2nd grade will receive monthly updates about Oreo that include information, pictures, and videos. These updates include lessons and activities related to her growth, how she is cared for on the farm, and how milk is produced on the farm. 2nd grade is very excited to follow her journey while learning more about dairy farming and where milk comes from.
