Komatsu Fluid Power Challenge
On Tuesday, May 7th, eight students from East Forest participated in the Komatsu Fluid Power Challenge in Rocky Grove, accompanied by their instructor, Mr. Dustin Donato. The Fluid Power Action Challenge is a STEM-based competition that challenges middle school students to solve an engineering problem using fluid power. The students, who volunteered for this activity, work in teams to design and build a fluid power mechanism racing against the clock and other teams in a timed competition. The students had four hours to complete their mechanism with the materials and tools that were provided. The two teams of four worked very hard on their design, but ultimately came up a bit short in the competition.
