Forest Area welcomed Jungle Terry to West Forest School on Monday, September 28th, for an entertaining and educational animal assembly. East Forest students in Pre-K through 8th grade traveled to West Forest, where they joined the West Forest students in Pre-K through 8th grade for a special opportunity to learn about a variety of exotic and local animals. Jungle Terry introduced students to an exciting collection of animals, including a hedgehog, ferret, snakes, a tarantula, a skunk, and several other fascinating species. Students learned interesting facts about each animal and had the opportunity to see many of them up close. Following the assembly, the students transitioned their excitement into the classroom by utilizing the experience for writing prompts in Reading and ELA classes. They also used the interesting facts they learned to master new vocabulary in Science classes. Additionally, students in grades K-3 who completed their summer reading packets had the chance to experience some truly unforgettable up-close encounters with the animals! The students had a wonderful time learning, asking questions, and experiencing these amazing animals firsthand. We are grateful to Jungle Terry for bringing such a fun and memorable educational experience to Forest Area.
