Forest Area School District students are participating in a trap team this school year. The team is made up of nine dedicated athletes representing both the East Forest and West Forest communities. The athletes are Isaiah Alderton, Johnathan Bowser, Tara Brown, Ezra Busch, Gabe Busch, Vincent Carey, Nick Conti, Jayden Scherer, and Lucy Traugott. The team is coached by Mr. Fritz Brown. They are competing in the PA State High School Clay Target League, which includes three weeks of practice, five weeks of competition, and a final fun shoot. All team shoots take place at the Allegheny Valley Sportsman’s Association, with scores submitted electronically to determine division placement against similar-sized teams across the state. Athletes also have the opportunity to qualify for the State Tournament in Elysburg, PA, on May 31. This program would not be possible without the generous support of local businesses, organizations, and individuals. We also extend a sincere thank you to our parent volunteers, Mr. Alderton, Mrs. Busch, and Mrs. Conti, for their help with scoring and organization throughout the season.
