Forest Area Summer Institute Program

This summer Forest Area schools will offer learning opportunities for students who have completed grades 7 thru 11 this school year.  We are planning to offer six days of learning, with a theme for each two-day session, to be held at both schools.  For each two-day session, students will participate in hands-on learning activities on day one, and fieldtrip on day 2.  As part of the program students will travel to Pittsburgh, Erie, and Hershey.  To attend the field trip, the student must be present on the first day. Parents/guardians must transport their student(s) to the school.

The deposit for the camp is $10.00 which will be returned to the students on the morning of their last field trip day.  Those who wish to participate must return the application form, field trip permission slip, medical form, the $10 deposit, along with a written response answering the question “Why is it important to continue learning throughout life?”.  All 7th thru 11th grade students are encouraged to participate.

Deadline for applications is Friday, May 20.  Questions about the program can be directed to Mrs. Banner at West Forest or Mr. Hartwig at East Forest.
