Forest Area Music Department Receives Grants

Two grants were recently awarded to the Forest Area School District Music Department.  The Forest Warren chapter of the PA Retired School Employees selected Mrs. Lori Beatty’s request as one of six grants that they give each year.  Mrs. Beatty used the funding to purchase drumsticks and music for the students to learn bucket drumming.

The Lowe’s store of Warren donated 40 five gallon buckets to the Music Department, to be used for drums.  Both East Forest School and West Forest School will be benefiting from the grants.  They will be used in the Spring concerts as well as in the general music curriculum.

Special thanks to both the Retired Employees of Warren and Forest Counties, and to the Warren Lowe’s Store.
