Forest Area Hires School Police Officers
    The Forest Area School District is pleased to announce the addition of school police officers to our team, aimed at enhancing safety and security for all students and staff.
    Mr. Jason Wagner has joined the staff at West Forest as a School Police Officer. Mr. Wagner earned a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Gannon University. He has recently retired from the PA State Police after 26 years of service. Mr. Wagner is looking forward to working with the students, staff, and families of the Forest Area School District to promote a safe and positive educational environment.

    Mr. Steven Manns joins East Forest as a School Police Officer. He graduated from the Lenape Vo-Tech Drafting and Design program. Mr. Manns has completed extensive Law Enforcement and security training, including Physical Security Professional (PSP) certification through ASIS International. Steve served the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a Trooper for 25 years. He served in a few roles, but most importantly as a physical security professional for the Risk and Vulnerability Assessment Team. Outside of work, Mr. Manns serves as a volunteer with Trail Life, helping young men enjoy and learn from outdoor activities.

    Kathy Watters joins the Forest Area School District as a School Police Officer. Kathy is a graduate of West Forest. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Clarion University. After obtaining her degree, Kathy went on to complete the PA State Police Academy and join the police force, where she served for over 25 years in a number of roles and retired as Corporal in April 2025. Kathy is looking forward to continuing service to the community.
