On Tuesday, May 9th, East Forest 7th grade students(left to right in picture) Vera Heferle, Alexandrea Carroll, Jacob Glass, and Brody Hartle participated in the Komatsu Fluid Power Challenge in Rocky Grove. The Fluid Power Action Challenge is a STEM-based competition that challenges middle school students to solve an engineering problem using fluid power. The students work in teams to design and build a fluid power mechanism and they compete against other teams in a timed competition. The students had four hours to complete their mechanism with the materials and tools that were provided. These 4 students were able to get their creation to transport the wooden dowel completely 8 times for a total of 16 points! Great Job!
