East Forest Students Learn About African Culture
African Culture and Masks

Mr. Ernest Hartwig’s 7th and 8th Grade World Geography classes at East Forest High School are learning about Africa and its many cultures. They are making tribal masks from various regions throughout the continent and learning about their spiritual and ceremonial purposes. The students are also exploring the influence they have on modern artists in the fields of art, music and design.  Eighth grade student Johnathen Lindig is putting the finishing touches on his ceremonial mask.
