East Forest seniors (from left) Giovanni DiGiacomo, Matt Zeigler, and David Schill are still working on a Consumer Math project after the period has ended! Mrs. Robin Cornecki’s Consumer Math course is a 12th-grade class that focuses on everyday math skills needed to survive in the real world. In this particular project, students were learning all about budgeting. They were given scenarios where they looked at careers, cars, housing, habits, and savings choices. Then they calculated their net monthly income to stay within their budget or look at where costs could be cut. They enjoyed mixing and matching the project cards to build a lifestyle that they would like to live!
