On Tuesday, May 6th, students from East and West Forest competed in the Komatsu Fluid Power Challenge in Rocky Grove. The Fluid Power Action Challenge is a STEM-based competition that challenges middle school students to solve an engineering problem using fluid power. The students were given 6 weeks to design and build their prototype, and then on challenge day, the students were given four hours to rebuild their design with their own written procedure, using only the materials and tools that were provided. The Forest students worked very hard on their design, but unfortunately did not receive any trophies at the competition. Shown here are: (front, left to right) Willow Walker, Sebastian Vivaldo, Gavin Summerville and Stryker Hart; (back, left to right) Luke Miller, Garret Swineford, Tyler Miller and Rico Martinez.
