A big thank-you to East Forest 4th grade student Axel Tobolski and Mr. Roth for their wonderful presentation at this week’s school board meeting. Together, they transported the board to “Fractionland” with a lesson on equivalent fractions, improper fractions, and fraction circles. Their lesson included a demonstration of how students use both visual and auditory online tools to strengthen their understanding of math concepts. Their lesson also highlighted the cross-curricular connection between math and music by exploring how fractional note lengths demonstrate math concepts in rhythm and sound.
