Dear West Forest Families/Staff/Community,
I hope you are all well and have had a great start to another school year. As many of you know me, it feels weird to introduce myself. My name is Luke Alex and I am excited to introduce myself to all of you as the Acting Principal at West Forest for the 2025-2026 school year. I would like to thank the FASD School Board, Mrs. Hetrick, and Mrs. Beers for allowing me this opportunity to work with all of you and the amazing staff at West Forest in this new role.
I have been a math educator at West Forest for 20 years. I have advised numerous groups and activities and coached basketball at multiple levels in our school. I have been dedicated to providing a safe learning environment in my classroom where students feel comfortable but also challenged academically. I believe that every student has the immense potential to be the best version of themselves, and I will work along with the staff at West Forest to help create an environment where we can focus on providing the best opportunities for student growth and learning.
My wife, Brittany, and I reside in Clarendon, PA. Mrs. Alex is our first grade teacher at West Forest. She has been teaching at West Forest for 15 years. We have three children. Maya is in 5th Grade, Chase is in 3rd Grade, and Everleigh is in 1st Grade. We spend a lot of our weekends and evenings at our kids’ sporting events and other activities.
As a former student at West Forest and now as an educator at West Forest, I feel strongly that West Forest can provide all students with the opportunity to feel safe, valued, and respected while providing an environment for all students to grow both academically and socially. While there are challenges to being a small rural school, I believe a small rural school settingĀ provides unique opportunities for our students to see great success. I am very excited to continue to be part of the West Forest Family, and work with all of you to see great future successes for all of our students.
Sincerely,
Luke Alex
Acting Principal, West Forest High School
