Forest Area FCCLA attends National Leadership Conference
Student members representing the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) chapters of the Forest Area School District achieved national recognition at the annual FCCLA National Leadership Conference, held July 5 through July 10 in Washington, DC.
Competing alongside more than 10,000 delegates nationwide, students earned several Silver and Bronze medals in STAR (Students Taking Action with Recognition) Events.

- Silver Medalists:
- Robert Payne & Esther Forker (West Forest) – Chapter in Review, Level 3
- Alanah Wagner & Alison McLaughlin (West Forest) – Chapter Service Display, Level 3
- Maya Shionis & Grace Cornman (East Forest) – Event Management, Level 3
- Jonah Glass, Jacob Glass & Nick Geraci (East Forest) – Promote and Publicize, Level 3
- Bronze Medalist:
- Isabella Wagner (West Forest) – Job Interview, Level 2
Beyond the competitive events, Forest Area students took on significant leadership roles during the conference. Macalie Hoffmann of West Forest concluded her year-long term as the FCCLA National Vice President of Parliamentary Law, helping lead general sessions alongside her fellow national officers. Robert Payne served on the National Officer Candidate Nominating Committee and, alongside Alison McLaughlin, led the Pennsylvania delegation as members of the State Executive Council.
In addition to competitions and leadership duties, students attended motivational general sessions, business meetings, skill-building workshops, volunteer activities, and the national EXPO.
Advisor Shenessa Rossetti wrapped up the year by saying, “We are incredibly proud of our students’ hard work and leadership on the national stage. We extend our sincere gratitude to our chaperones, schools, and local community supporters. Also, a special thank you to our newly graduated seniors. You are an amazing group of young men and women. We can’t wait to see where life takes you.”
