West Forest Schools partnered with the Forest County Historical Society, led by President Mary Alyce “Jake” Knauff, to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States through a variety of educational and community activities. Community members joined students and staff in exploring local, state, and national history through hands-on experiences, presentations, and historical displays. Elementary students participated in activities such as quilt making, butter churning, pioneer games, and a one-room schoolhouse reenactment, while secondary students completed projects focused on genealogy, local newspapers, community interviews, and regional history. The event provided a meaningful day of learning, community fellowship, and celebration of America’s heritage.
