Elementary Activities
After School Program
The after school program runs from January to April at both East Forest and West Forest Elementary Schools. During the program, students stay after school for an hour and a half. They do their homework, get a snack, and take part in fun activities. Students work on leadership skills, take part in 4-H projects, and are physically active. All students receive full or partial transportation home if needed.
Junior-Senior High Activities
Varsity Club
The varsity club gives recognition to Varsity Athletes who have earned Varsity letters through their participation in the High School athletic program. The club promotes high standards of sportsmanship, academics, and fair play in all high school athletic activities. Members will also do community service because it is looked at highly when applying for future education, scholarships, and grants.
Drama Club
The East Forest Drama Club performs at least one play each year. Drama club produces a wide variety of shows such as Snow White Lite, The Purloined Letter, The Importance of Being Earnest, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Just Another High School Play. We have taken field trips to see performances of Les Miserables, Peter and the Starcatchers, and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.
FCCLA
Family, Career and Community Leaders of America is a national Career and Technical Student Organization that provides personal growth, leadership development, and career preparation opportunities for students in Family and Consumer Sciences education.
Members develop skills for life through character development; creative and critical thinking; interpersonal communications; practical knowledge; and career preparation.
FCCLA serves students in grades 7-12.

Student Historians
The Student Historians is a voluntary , student led/adviser facilitated extracurricular group activity designed to enhance the existing curriculum in Social Studies in the Forest Area School District by exposing students to tangible historical landmarks important in the making and growth of the United States, and to expand the students cultural experience by first hand exposure to diversity which abounds throughout the United States by virtue of our immigrant heritage.
Purpose:
- To provide students with an opportunity to visit historic locations throughout the local area, Pennsylvania, and the United States.
- Educate visitors and parents about local, state, and national history and the places we have visited.
- Expand our knowledge and understanding of local, state, and American History through field trips to important historical sites.
- To promote research skills, and the preparation of reports.
- To promote patriotism and pride in America
- To promote cultural awareness
Art Club
The HS Art Club is designed to provide an opportunity for artistic students to work together to promote the visual arts in the school and community. The club works on various fundraising activities throughout the year to provide money for their annual field trip. All students interested in promoting the arts are welcome to join the club.
Mini-Relay for Life
Purpose: To annually hold a Mini-Relay for Life event with students during the school day. The mini-relay will show them what a relay is like and encourage them to attend their county one. Both students and faculty/staff will benefit from the club. It is the club mission to promote a healthy lifestyle and a hands-on way to show how to reduce the risk of being diagnosed with cancer someday.
