Dr. Brooks Gibbs, a resilience educator with a PHD in social science, visited Forest Area on December 19th for a combined assembly and workshop with students from both East and West Forest schools. He spoke at several assemblies with grade-level presentations for all students in grades 3-12. He presented his ideas on the dynamics of conflict and educated the students on some unique resilience strategies that could be used in various situations. Several students participated in role play activities with Dr. Gibbs to practice the resilience strategies he was teaching them. Shown here is Dr. Gibbs with East Forest freshman Mathew Wonderling.
