The East Forest National Honor Society held a fundraiser in support of one of the district’s own, Maddox Druckemiller. Maddox is a Pre-K student who has a physical disability and limited mobility due to spasticity in his legs. Maddox walks with the support of a walker and leg braces. However, Maddox’s life is about to change this July as he was recently approved for a Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy surgery that will take place in St. Louis by the world’s best SDR surgeon, Dr. Park.
The students of the National Honor Society presented Maddox’s story to the high school students at East Forest. Students, faculty, and staff could purchase an “M” for $1 in support of “Miracles for Maddox” and his upcoming surgery. The fundraiser was a huge success, and how sweet it was to see the smile that it brought to Maddox’s face!
