West Forest 2nd Grade Enjoys Pedal Bikes

The second graders of West Forest Elementary were treated to an assembly of pedal bikes. Each child was fitted with a helmet which he/she will keep. After the fitting, each child had the chance to ride a pedal bike around a mapped out bike course. The course was patrolled by Americorp workers who would teach the students about different road sign. The students entered the roadway by first stopping to look for oncoming bikes, they proceeded to the yield sign and merged onto the trail. The roadway had signs for hospitals, slippery roads, hills, turns and one way. Although the weather was wet and rainy the students and workers were bright and sunny.
