The Mobile Dentist will be at West Forest School on Jan. 6th, 7th, 8th and 16th. This in-school dental service is no cost for students with Medicaid or PA Chip. They will visit East Forest in the spring.
Four students from East Forest have been selected to participiate in this year’s PMEA District 3 Choir Festival. The festival will be held from Jan. 16 – 18, 2020, at United High School in Armaugh, PA. The students who have been selected are: Daniel Thompson, Tyler Bowen, Taylor Andrews, and Chey Swartz. They are all currently seniors at East Forest HS.
On Wednesday, November 6th, East Forest students helped in the annual VFW pheasant hunt. The students worked with the National Wild Turkey Federation and the Forest Service to set out pheasants that the veterans would later hunt. Tyler Bowen, a senior at East Forest, said, “It was really nice to help the veterans out. They seemed to really enjoy our company and it was a lot of fun.”
Forest Area School District and Pennsylvania Department of Transportation are reminding everyone the winter season is again approaching. With combined efforts the Department, School District, school bus drivers and the motoring public, we can all achieve a successful and safe winter season.
Some winter safety tips to following before driving on winter roads are:
- Keep the vehicle in good condition by prepping the vehicle for winter.
- Check wiper blades and replace if needed and keep wiper fluid tank filled with appropriate fluid rated at -30 degrees.
- Check Battery.
- Check the cooling system is in working order.
- Check tire pressure and tread levels. Replace tires if tread level is less than 2/32 of an inch.
